This hat was born out of a stash-busting frenzy and love of shaker rib. Very passionate start with an übersquishy result. I love the ability of shaker rib to take care of the shaping for you. You just start with a simple rib on smaller needles, then switch to bigger needles and shaker rib – and the hat grows as if by magic! The decreases are very fast and drastic, making the crown a bit firmer and the hat less… well… floppy. It was designed to be short, fitting the head without any slouch, but if you prefer a slouchy hat, just knit more rows before decreases. The decreases are so fast and furious, that you can calmly knit for the length that fits just you, and then shape the crown.
