Sometimes Pi is like a Frisbee, other times its 3.1415927… The Chudnovskys may not be as well known; they’re mathematician brothers who calculated Pi to several billion digits using a supercomputer they built in their apartment.

The shawl is based on EZ’s Pi shawl, and starts as a half-circle. Like Pi, it extends, and in fact it is greater than a circle by the time you finish. The edging (knit on sideways) shows off the color changes in highly variegated yarns and ensures a nice, elastic edge. Perfect for travel knitting, the pattern rows are simple and interspersed by soothing stockinette. Stitch counts are provided for each row.

It’s show in Fleece Artist’s Merino Angel, which is a fingering held together with a very fine kid mohair. It is sometimes availabe spun together - be sure to check the yardages as they sometimes vary.

I’m proud to say that this particular shawl was entered at the Calgary Stampede’s Western Showcase and won a first place ribbon. To celebrate, I offered it for a special $1 for the first ten days (the same length of time as the Calgary Stampede).
