When the seasons change and chilly is the forecast, it’s time to think about individuals and families who are homeless and would benefit from a warm, hand-knitted scarf.

This simple scarf can be tailored to a variety of yarns and yarn combinations. The width and length can be adjusted by the number of CO stitches and the number of rows knitted. It’s intended to be quick and easy to encourage you to make more than one!

One Bulky weight yarn can be used or experiment with combining two Worsted yarns for a different look and feel. Hold both strands together while knitting. The resulting scarf should be soft and squooshy. This is a great way to use up leftovers or a soft acrylic combined with a washable blend. Experiment with leftovers to make it scrappy, too.
