Christmas stockings are always on my list to make but I always run out of time! Enter the bulky knit stocking! I wanted to make something with a little color work interest but not so much of a commitment that I’d never finish. This stocking knits up quickly on US 9 needles and only requires two skeins of affordable Berroco Vintage Chunky! If you’d like to substitute another yarn, be sure to swatch so you know how it will turn out. Gauge isn’t critical in this project.

Size: One size

Gauge: 18.5 sts and 19 rows/4” in stranded colorwork

Yarn: Two skeins Berroco vintage Chunky (100g), one of each in two contrasting colors

Needles: a set of 4 or 5 dpns or longer circular needles (for magic loop) in US 9 or the size needed to achieve gauge.

Skills used: Knitting, purling, knitting in the round, 2-color stranded colorwork, decreases, i-cord, kitchener stitch (grafting), afterthought heel (use of lifelines), picking up sts.
