This PDF knitting pattern is to create a Campervan Beanie Hat along with a cosy Neck Warmer and Mitts. Perfect for those chilly days! The chunky yarn knits up really quickly too, even better!
I had the Men Folk in mind when I made it but there is no reason why we Girls can’t have them too!
It’s a “One Size fits All” pattern for the hat which, providing your tension is correct, will fit a 21” to 23” head size. You may wish to “loose” a few stitches for the Mitts if you don’t want them so large but this is easily achieved by casting on fewer stitches (described on the pattern) and the rest is easy!
The finished item sizes are:
Neck Warmer – approx. 53cm/21” around, 20cm/8” deep. Beanie Hat – approx. 53cm/21” around head, 21.5cm/8.5” from base to crown. Wrist Warmers – approx. 20cm/8” long and 24cm/9.5” around
These sizes are based on a tension of 13 sts and 17 rows to 10cm/4” square on 6.5 mm needles.
I used 200g of Wendy Serenity Chunky Yarn. This comes in 100g balls. I used 1 ball of main colour and 1 of contrast.
Wendy Serenity Chunky is approximately 80 metres/87 yards per ball. The two balls of yarn were enough make 1 hat, 1 neck warmer and 1 pair of wrist warmers. Other brands of yarn may vary in length so please consider this if using an alternative.
Please note: I am based in the UK and my patterns are all written in UK terms but most of them have charts as well to help you on your way.
