This cozy stocking works up really quickly with jumbo yarn and size 50 needles. I made my own thick yarn by splitting some wool roving down the middle (making it half the thickness) and felting it in my washing machine. But there are plenty of jumbo/size 7 yarns out there that would work well. I particularly love Tough Love from Love Fest Fibers because of the brilliant colors.
