This free multiple gauge Basic Beanie pattern, with your choice of either a Rolled or Ribbed Edge Version is written for a variety of gauges from light worsted to bulky, and for a variety of sizes from preemie to adult. We love this hat in any yarn, for anyone. Choose your size, find your yarn, get gauge—and you have a cozy hat that fits!


GAUGE:
Light Worsted: 5sts = 1”
Worsted: 4.5 sts = 1”
Aran: 4 sts = 1”
Chunky: 3.5sts = 1”
Bulky: 3sts = 1”

SIZES
Preemie 12” (Newborn 14”, Small Child 16”, Child/Small Adult 18”, Adult 20”, Large Adult 22”)

DETAILS: For both Rolled or Ribbed Edge Versions

Light Worsted Version
85 (100, 125, 140, 170, 200) yds
US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular & double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge. US 6 (4mm) 16” circular, or one
size smaller than gauge needle.

Worsted Version
80 (85, 100, 150, 185, 210) yds
US 8 (5mm) 16” circular & double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge. US 7 (4.5mm) 16” circular, or one ize smaller than gauge needle.

Heavy Worsted Version
