Designer’s Note: This over-the-knee stocking is knitted top-down, starting with a lacey top, a “garter” section with eyelets through which ribbon is threaded, and then a band of two-colour knitting. Below this, the leg is worked in a herringbone lace stitch, with shaping occurring on either side of a distinct back seam panel in a faggoting stitch. The heel flap includes a large heart motif in the contrast colour, which you may choose to embroider with the name of your secret love! The herringbone lace continues over the top of the foot, while the sole is worked in stocking stitch, with a crown and heart motif added in duplicate stitch afterwards.
