This is a child sized hat, made to match my sweater pattern.
It’s knitted sideways and grafted together to become a seamless hat, and with the possibility of adding a garter hem in the round last. It’s a very versatile little thing, can be knitted completely in garter stitch, or in stocking stitch with garter ridges, or with a sideways garter hem instead of a picked up one. It’s a great way of playing with colours!

There is only one size, which is about 48 cm in diameter for the stocking stitch version, 42 cm for garter only, but it could easily be changed with a different gauge.

And this pattern isn’t for absolute beginners, you need to be able to follow basic instructions and do a bit of independent thinking. You need to be able to work short rows and do a kitchener in garter. That said, it’s not difficult, and I’ve had great fun knitting up different versions.
