THIS PATTERN IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

This Circle of Awareness Block is designed in memory of a good friend who we lost to breast cancer.

My initial idea was for this block to be included in a mix-and-match style afghan, as a gentle memorial to a loved one.
However, the design could also be used to make items to sell for your particular cause, just change the ribbon colour to match.

Using worsted weight yarn the block is 6”, but this could be easily enlarged by adding more rounds. The block is for intermediate crocheters, and suitable for any weight yarn, just use the appropriate hook size. And the pattern comes in both US and UK terminology formats (just download the appropriate PDF).

There are also directions in the pattern for making the key ring and perfumed sachet pictured to the left

The final picture shows a squared 12” version of this block, the Awareness Square ,which is also now available. I suggest you start with this square, as it is easier to learn the ribbon technique on a straight edge.

There is no charge for this block, but it would be lovely to see your finished pieces, or hear about other ideas you may have for charity items using the block.

Happy Crocheting!
Nell ♡

P.S. There has been an update to this pattern, just to clarify the special stitches a little more. Ta :)
