This is a very simple but pretty shrug that would be a perfect introduction to lace knitting. The garment is just a rectangle that is folded lengthwise and buttoned up partway on each side, creating sleeves that reach the elbow. The shrug just covers the shoulders and upper arms and looks lovely with a sleeveless dress, a pretty camisole or a fitted tee.

You can easily make larger sizes than the “large” by increasing the number of stitches in multiples of 12.
