Hello Lovelies!

Here is the free pattern for my Citrus Blossom Crochet Coasters/Doilies. If any hand made items make a house a home, for me, it has to be these!

In 3 different sizes, they’re great for tealights, vases and as coasters. They are my go-to project for protecting my lovely wooden furniture from hot cups and accidental tea spills (sacrilegious!).

For these crochet coasters (or doilies!), I chose fingering weight organic cotton. All sizes start with the same basic rounds, so once you’ve made a few, the pattern is easy to remember. Each size is then finished off with a pretty border of petals.

When worked in fingering weight cotton, the small size works well for displaying little tea lights. Pretty cups sit nicely on the medium coasters. The large size is perfect for a coffee-lover’s favourite mug.

You can also have some fun experimenting with thicker yarn to make larger sizes, for example placemats for vases. See our homemade lemonade pictured? It sits on the large size coaster which I made using worsted weight cotton and a 4.5mm hook. It measures 20cm across. Perfect for displaying a vase full of seasonal blooms!
