Pop these little bows onto your shoes or sweater, in your hair, wherever. Vary the size by using varying weights of yarn or thread, and add a sweet tailored edge with a slip-stitch edging.

YARN Choose from the following three weights to vary the size of your bow:

Nazli Gelin Garden Cotton Thread size 10 (distributed by Universal Yarn) (100% Egyptian Giza mercerized cotton;306 yd 280 m/1¾ oz 50 g): #700-10; #700-03; #700-47; #700-31 (use any 2 colors combined; designate one as MC and the other as CC).

Nazli Gelin Garden Cotton Thread size 5 (distributed by Universal Yarn) (100% Egyptian Giza mercerized cotton; 174 yd 160 m/1¾ oz 50 g): #500-85; #500-66; #500-74; #500-73 (use any 2 colors combined; designate one as MC and the other as CC).

Nazli Gelin Garden Cotton Thread size 3 (distributed by Universal Yarn) (100% Egyptian Giza mercerized cotton; 136 yd 125 m/1¾ oz 50 g): #300-16; #300-23; #300-11; #300-20 (use any 2 colors combined; designate one as MC and the other as CC).

HOOK Steel hook size 6 (1.6 mm) if using size 10 thread, steel hook size 3 (2.1 mm) if using size 5 thread, or size C/2 (2.75 mm) if using size 3 thread. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

NOTIONS Embroidery needle or yarn needle (depending on thread size); large safety pin (to help thread one piece of the bow through the other); optional: hair clips or pins or blank shoe clip hardware. Hardware shown on shoe clip samples from Etsy at Couture Embellishment thread and needle or glue ifneeded to attach any hardware to back of bow.

GAUGE 10 sts and 11 rnds = 1” in size 10 thread; 8 sts and 9 rnds = 1” in size 5 thread; 6½ sts and 8 rnds = 1” in size 3 thread.

Sizing:
About 2” in size 10 thread, 2½“ in size 5 thread, and 3¼” in size 3 thread.

Exact gauge isn’t critical for this project; it is more important to crochet tightly enough to create a firm fabric.
