From Simple Knits for Cherished Babies:

Cashmere is the ultimate yarn for comfort and luxury--nothing but the best for the new addition to the family!  However, this simple stockinette stitch sweater can also be knitted in merino wool or cotton, if you prefer.  It is made in one piece, and is very easy to knit.  The garter stitch hems add a modern finishing touch, as do the washed-cotton tape ties at the neck opening.  The slit in the center back makes it really easy to slide the sweater over the baby’s head.  The sweater can be combined with the leggings and the bootees to create a matching outfit for baby.
