A textured, but classic looking shawl using only 3 stitches.
This classic look came about when I decided to make a shawl for a very dear friend, who reminds me that the clean classic look is still beautiful and relevant today. Constructed in a semi-circle, this drapes over your shoulders without the need for a shawl pin. Of course a shawl pin looks lovely with it too! Although it is designed with dk weight yarn, it can be done in many yarn weights. Use a finer yarn and a larger hook to get a lacier effect or use a heavier yarn with appropriate hook to make a heavier and bigger shawl.
This is available in 1 size, 39” wingspan by 20” height. Adding or omitting rows will change the size, but adding will require math.

Gauge is not too important since it is not fitted.

Materials needed include 650-750 yds dk weight yarn, I/9/5.50mm hook, blunt-end needle.

Written in US terminology.

Advanced Easy level: requires careful following of instructions to achieve the proper shaping. Pattern consists of only 2 stitches, but one stitch is not your typical basic stitch (explained in the abbreviation section.)

Errata: Row 10: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next ch-sp, sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next ch-sp, sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next ch-sp [sc in next 5 sts, 2sc in next ch-sp, sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next ch-sp, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next ch-sp] 3x, sc in last 4 sts, turn.
