This beautiful little baby cap is knit in a thick garter stitch to keep tiny ears toasty. Knit with two needles and thick yarn, the cap is finished in no time at all. The special reduction steps creates a beautiful spiral pinwheel pattern on the crown of baby’s head. Based on a classic French baby cap, the pattern was created by a knitwear designer in Lyon, France.

Caps can be knit in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, or 6-12 months. You will need to know how to cast on stitches, knit stitches, knit two stitches together, cast off, seam the finished work and knit in ends of the finished work – skill level beginner. A hat, for an average skilled knitter, should take approximately three hours to complete.

Pattern may not be reproduced without permission of designer. Finished knits made from Madame Segneri designs are for personal use only.
