Knit a Cleopatra doll for Egyptologists or fans of Liz Taylor. Cleo also has a little knitted asp snake for a Shakespearian ending! This pattern incorporates a 3 needle join to join the skirt to the body as you knit.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns. Most pieces are worked flat (back and forth) on single pointed knitting needles, not in the round. The headdress, bangles and belt are single crochet chains worked on the crochet hook, and the snake is i-cord worked on the two DPNs.

NEEDLES
Three 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and two DPNs (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; up to 50g in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, a 3.5mm crochet hook, and embroidery thread for the eyes.

SIZES
One size only - 17cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
