These fingerless gloves are a modern motif using traditional Fair Isle technique. They are knit in the round with simple shaping for the thumb gusset.

Techniques
Ability to understand charts, work in the round and stranded knitting.

Suggested Yarn
Any light fingering yarn or heavy laceweight, 5 colours. Shown above: Handspun from Sericin Silkworks Clouds of Luxury Fibre Spinning Kit, available from www.sericin.etsy.com. Pictured gloves were knit in small size, 2.25mm needles, hand circumference (HC) 6.5”. Total yardage used (less than): 180yds light fingering/laceweight. Cuff colour: 60yds, 40yds each for Fair Isle colours.

Suggested Needle Size
2.0 mm to 2.5mm according to gauge. 5 double pointed needles or 2 circular needles as preferred. Stitch markers if needed for marking thumb gusset increases. Stitch holder.
Gauge over Fair Isle pattern: 40sts x 40rows over 4” x 4”.
