The combination of textured patterns gives this hat its Cluthar—“comfortable as in warmth”—with a thick, cozy band and a deeply-textured body to keep it snuggly and warm.

The hat starts with a sideways-knitted brim, which is joined with a choice of either invisibly grafting live stitches to cast on edge or with a 3-Needle Bind Off. Stitches are picked up along the edge and a ribbed facing is knit for added warmth. Next, the honeycomb-textured body flows seamlessly from the ribbing and the crown is shaped with slip-stitch decreases. The stitch patterns are both charted and written.

Approximately 21.75” (Grafted version) or 22” (Three Needle BO version) outer brim circumference × 8” height.
