The May 2010 Sock Club kit. Pattern designed by the Nancy Bush.

This design was inspired by socks I bought in Estonia on my first visit there, in 1995. I purchased them from an elderly lady who approached us on a cobblestone street, offering several pairs of socks for sale. I chose two pair, one for a friend, the other because I thought it was a way to help her. Every time I see those socks, I have thought about her and the place we met. The pattern was an easy one to decipher and so I chose it to use as the main pattern for this design. I have since seen other socks from Estonia that used this same stitch pattern, which, to my mind, resembles a stone path. - Nancy Bush
