For this sweater coat, I was inspired by a recent visit to Boston. Even though it was nearly winter, the sun was incredibly warm and the streets of nearby Cambridge were full of life. Everyone looked as if they had known each other forever- it felt like magic. With this design, I wanted to capture that visible feeling of warmth and togetherness.

The lower body of the coat is worked in one piece to the armholes and then divided for the fronts and back. For the sleeves, stitches are picked up from armhole, the caps are shaped with short-rows, then knitted in the round to the bind-offs at the cuffs.
