For summertime and southern babies, I’ve designed a lacy, breezy baby blanket, stroller sized (27” x 35”), knitted flat in one piece using tropical weight cotton blend yarn.

My lace pattern is based on a 19th century floral motif, transformed into swaying palm trees with bobble coconuts, stabilized with vertical garter columns, and bordered with climbing leafy vines. Slipped stitches neatly finish the sides, so no raw edges!

Pattern includes both charted and written-out instructions.

The blanket can easily be resized by knitting more or fewer lace repeats within the borders, for which I’ve included specific instructions. The sample shown, knit as writ, uses 625 yards of light worsted weight yarn.
