This cocoon, sometimes called a Sleep Sack, fits most newborns to about 3 months. There’s plenty of room for them to wiggle, stretch, and grow.
Make it of washable yarn for easy care.
Baby will be cozy and feel snuggled. You won’t have to worry about the edge of a blanket dragging and baby won’t be kicking off the covers!
Make it up with chunky (level 5) yarn - about 200 yards and 16” size 10.5 US needles.
This is an easy pattern and great for beginning knitters.

Most of the cocoon is knitted in the round and Magic Loop can be used.

Suggested yarns include: Lion Brand “Unique”, Loops & Threads “Country Loom” or Deborah Norville “Serenity”

Skills needed include: Knit, purl, knit 2 together, knitting in the round, ribbing (knit 2, purl 2, repeat)
