Today is the last full moon of this decade and also the year, 2019. This full moon is called the Cold Moon as it brings in the cold season at its full peak. I wanted to pay my tribute to both this beautiful nature being and the event.

While I was designing this cowl pattern with a wavy ripples pattern, the idea to add a moon to the waves suddenly popped up in my mind, then came the idea of creating a snowflake and before I knew it, I had a snowflake full moon over my cowl. It is funny how all of these ideas form and work together.

Being a healer, I have always been a moon lover. I especially love the full moon. I am so happy I could make a pattern inspired by it.

The snowflake here represents the cold season. The waves and the high tides occurs naturally during the full moon. My idea here was to create a wearable art depicting a scene which the artist in me sees from my mind’s eyes.

The applique and the cowl are very easy and can be made very quickly.

Cold Moon Waves is a simple and elegant cowl. It features a ripple pattern of the ocean waves throughout the cowl with a decorative snowflake moon applique on one side.
