Today is the last full moon of this decade and also the year, 2019. This full moon is called the Cold Moon as it brings in the cold season at its full peak. I wanted to pay my tribute to both this beautiful nature being and the event.

While I was designing a cowl pattern with a wavy ripples pattern , the idea to add a moon to the waves suddenly popped up in my mind, then came the idea of creating a snowflake and before I knew it, I had a snowflake full moon over my cowl. It is funny how all of these ideas form and work together.

Being a healer, I have always been a moon lover. I especially love the full moon. I am so happy I could make a pattern inspired by it.

The snowflake here represents the cold season. This is how decorative I see the moon. ;)

The applique is very easy and can be made in just a few minutes perfect to use as an embellishment or as a last minute Christmas ornament.

Gauge is not important for this applique. You can make it big or small using a different yarn. I used an Aran weight yarn and size 4mm crochet hook to make the applique this size.
