Winter in Colorado is stunning when the temperature falls. Beautiful drifts of powdery snow and fields crisscrossed with deer, elk and other animal tracks. (Did I see a bobcat last week? Yes.) These quick-to-knit mitts would make wonderful gifts to be worn long after the holidays are over. With small amounts needed, it’s time to stash-dive!

  • The coordinating cowl will be released in early 2019, so treat yourself to full skeins if you want to match!
  • The pattern was written for White & Green yarn, but of course you can choose any colors you would like.
  • Add multi-colored seed beads to make Christmas trees!
  • Instructions are identical for medium and large; only needle size changes
  1. Medium Size, Gently Blocked (US 6): Gauge: 27 sts, 32 rows in 4in/10.16cm Mitt: 3.25in wide, 8in long (8.25cm wide, 20.32cm long)
  2. Large Size, Gently Blocked (US 7): Gauge 24 sts, 28 rows in 4in/10.16cm Mitt: 3.75in wide, 9in long (9.5cm wide, 22.86cm long)

Yarn
DK Weight (for both sizes)
70 yards for SINGLE mitt. If using 2 colors, you would need 35yds of one color and 35 yards of a second color.

140 yards for TWO mitts. if using 2 colors, you would need 70 yards of one color and 70 yards of a second color.

(not that you’d make only one mitt, but hopefully the amounts help you plan.)
