These chunky warm color blocked mittens work up quickly and are a good way to practice easy striping and mitten thumbs.

Two types of yarn are needed, the main color plus a coordinating color for the top and tops of the thumbs (optional.)

I used circular needles, but it can easily be worked in double pointed needles instead.
