Socks are always a favorite travel project. This project was born during a trip through the Appalachians. Its simple repeat is easy to follow in the car. It spirals around the leg like the Blue Ridge Parkway curls through the mountains. When it was time for the foot, the pattern decided it needed switchbacks to climb from the foot to the ankle. The second sock is for the way home, so it had to spiral in the opposite direction.

Errata: There has been a correction to the Switchback Pattern Chart for the Large size. The download has been corrected on 8/12/12.
