This pattern was inspired by the need in our community. I am a partner in a yarn shop and we see firsthand how Main Street has been impacted by shutdowns. And having spent my entire career in or around retail I know how much people are hurting and why the food banks are overwhelmed. We created a version of this pattern for our own community and are donating all of the proceeds to a local foodbank.

I ask that you please consider donating at least $5.00 to a local foodbank or to http://www.feedingamerica.org – $5 will provide 50 meals. Let us help each other anyway we can. You can also buy the apttern from Hands on Knitting Center’s website for $5.00 and we will donate all proceeds to Feeding America.

The two sizes are based on the weight of yarn you use. The smaller size is achieved by holding worsted/Aran weight as a single strand on a US 9. The Larger size follows the same exact instructions as the smaller but you use a US 13 and either hold worsted weight yarn double throughout or use a bulky yarn. You are working a firm gauge and then felting - I give you felting intsructions for both hand felting and machine felting.

The back of the bag is plain - feel free to use up stash for this side! As long as it is a wool (at least 80%) that is NOT superwash you should be able to mix and match.

I hope you are all well!! And staying safe and sane. Big virtual hugs to all!
