These inventive socks don’t require keeping track of a chart. Instead, a very simple color pattern is worked forwards and backwards to create the beguiling spirals and peaks. Once you get the hang of the new technique, these socks will fly off your needles. They are worked from the toe up.

This pattern features:

  • A new wedge style toe for a better fit
  • Simple, stranded colorwork
  • A forked heel (a better fitting short row heel variation)
  • Toe up construction
  • A sophisticated turned hem cuff

If you’re bored of traditional sock construction, knit up some Concoction socks. My clever adaptations of both the wedge toe and short row heels will deliver superbly fitting socks. Plus, you can lift either of these two new techniques and add them to other sock patterns.
