…………………………………………………………………

Conklaree is a geometric lace scarf named after the conklaree! call of the red-winged blackbird—to my ear, it’s always a happy sound that declares spring has arrived at last.

This is the second design in my All You Need Is One ebook collection. There will be five accessories in all, released throughout 2015. Each requires just one skein of yarn.

You can easily dress it up or down—it works for everything from Saturday errands to an evening concert. The scarf’s dimensions offer lots of versatility—Conklaree can be worn many ways: looped around the neck, one end tossed over the shoulder, or casually draped across your shoulders like a stole.

The sample was knit with a fingering weight merino/silk blend, but 100% merino, a bamboo or Tencel blend, and even linen would work well, too.

For a narrower scarf, try using a laceweight yarn and smaller needles. For a wider stole, consider a DK weight yarn and larger needles. Keep in mind that substituting yarns may affect the yardage needed.
