The basic concept of this scarf is that every square is worked at 90º to every other square. Stitches are picked up at each corner to join the squares, so there is no seaming! Taking advantage of the stockinette’s natural curling tendency allows the squares’ edges to roll and form “cathedral window” looking results. Additionally, squares are alternately knitted or purled (depending on knitter’s choice), perpendicular to the square just completed. Sounds complicated, but really isn’t once you feel the flow! This pattern shows off color variations really well--perfect for those long colorway changes!
This model was made with one ball of Crazy Zauberball to make a 7” x 52” scarf. Any other yarn can be substituted, with different results.
