These socks are based on traditional Fair Isle designs and include corrugated ribbing and a vertical pattern typical of the Sand Lodge designs. Every pattern motif is different to make sure knitting them keeps boredom at bay but each motif is quite small so that they are quite easy to knit. There are extra motifs included in the charts so the size can be adjusted. If the size needs further adjustment, larger needles or thicker wool can be used.

The Poll Dorset wool here is slightly thicker than conventional sock wool, but a thicker yarn could be used if a larger size is needed. The yarn for this design is available from Renaissance Dyeing in 4x25gm hanks.

The socks are worked top down and have a heel flap which is also worked in Fair Isle.
