One thing that’s handy and looks great, too, is a patch pocket. It’s easy to make, even if you’re just starting out, and you can add it to any piece of clothing or accessory to give it a bit of extra style.

I was inspired to make this pattern by some of the fashionable tees with crochet pockets and appliqués that were popular this year. Not only is it fashionable, but you can use it as a bit of visible mending on any garment that might need a little TLC.

To make this pocket, you will start at the point and increase the number of stitches in each row until the pocket is 3 inches wide, then crochet in straight rows until it reaches a measurement of 4.5 inches long.

Materials: Yarn - 1 ball of Curio #10 crochet thread – 721 yards / 100 grams – 100% cotton

Recommended hook size: 2.25 mm
