Although the Debbie Bliss is amazingly soft, any worsted weight yarn would be fine. The cable patterns present themselves after completing the border, thus making this a semi-mindless knit for those familiar with cable knitting. Highly suggest using ring-type markers to separate cables for ease in knitting. If you want to increase the width, simply add more garter sts between cables.
