The Coriolis Effect is a deflection of moving objects when viewed in a rotating reference frame. It is the reason that cyclones rotate in either an anti-clockwise or clockwise direction depending on whether you are in the northern or southern hemisphere. The spiral arm pattern on this hat is reminiscent of the swirling shape of a cyclone seen from space.

This is a cute, quick and easy baby hat in 3 sizes (which correspond to 0-3mth, 3-6mth and 6-9mth sizes).

It is knitted in the round (no seams to rub the baby’s head) and is finished with an i-cord top knot.

This pattern also currently features in a kit, with the Dye Cauldron Yarn at The Loop, Kensington, Calgary.
