Cork Street Reversible Shawl features columns of garter stitch and eyelets, increasing in such a way that the shawl grows into a heart shape. This traditional triangle shawl begins at the center top with a unique tab technique using Judy’s Magic Cast-on (optional) and grows outward to the bottom. The edge is weighted with a wide ribbed frill. As a result, the shawl hugs the shoulders: It is easy to wear and position with your favorite broach or shawl pin. And the design is completely reversible, too!

“Corky” can be knit in any weight yarn, just be sure to use a needle size about one millimeter larger than suggested on the ball band so that lace is open and relaxed. If you have changed yarn weight and gauge, remember that the frill takes up quite a bit of yardage, so plan ahead by having enough yarn when you start the edging!

Materials:
750 yards of sport weight yarn, shown here using 3 skeins Americo Baby Suri (80% suri alpaca, 20% wool/ 100g)
4mm 80cm circular knitting needle ( to accommodate a large number of stitches)
Stitch markers
wool needle

Skills Used:
Lace knitting, using markers, double increase. If using Magic Cast-on Garter Tab method (optional cast-on: Experience with magic loop and Judy’s magic cast-on is recommended if using this method.

Gauge:
16 sts and 20 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch. Gauge is not crucial for this project. Shawl can be worked with any weight yarn; Go up a full millimeter in size of the suggested needle on the ball band.

Measurements: Sample is 62 inches tip to tip and 24 inches high, frill is 3 inches wide, using sport weight yarn with a 4mm needle.
