An alternate method in working with Entrelac, using a Corner Start to create either a square or a rectangle worked on the diagonal. Shown using two colors of home spun yarn, Tumbleweed and Sierra to create a throw blanket. What is awesome about doing entrelac in a corner start method is that you will not have a jagged edge of half diamonds to fill in. It creates straight edges. No long starting chain needed either. Although this is worked in tunisian, no special hook is required.

Pattern is written so that you determine the size, part of the beauty of corner start projects. Make anywhere from a dishcloth to a king size afghan as you wish. Would also be stunning as a scarf or shawl. Also, use whatever yarn you wish. However this pattern is stunning worked with two colors of homespun alternated every tier of diamonds.

Worked in two colors of solid yarn will yield a checkerboard effect, and working with self striping yarn or 3 colors will result in a diagonal effect.

Pattern instructions give yardage and hook size to complete a 50”X60” afghan in homespun. Pattern is rated as intermediate, and does include diagrams.
