Get some yarn and a round needle with the appropriate gauge (I used Homespun).

Cast on 3 stitches. Knit 1, inc 1, knit to end of row. Repeat until desired width.

Alternate row 1 Knit 1, inc 1, knit to end of row. and row 2 Knit 1, knit 2 together, knit to end of row until desired length.

Knit 1, knit 2 together, knit to end of row. Repeat until 3 stitches left, cast off.

You can make it as a baby blanket, or a bit smaller as a throw blanket. I usually use 3 balls for a baby blanket, and 4 balls for a throw blanket. You can use bigger needles too if you don’t have the right size.
