This is an easy/intermediate pattern for a cozy, comfy, ultra-girly poncho with sleeves. This pattern uses inset mosaic crochet to create colour-work along the bottom of the poncho-sweater. Inset mosaic crochet consists of SC and DC stitches, and leaves only 2 tails of each colour to weave in after the colour-work is complete, so you won’t have tons of loose ends to hide - only 2 in total! The remainder of the garment is worked in HDC, with DC for the ribbing, making the crocheting quite fast.

This garment is worked from the bottom up, in rows back and forth to create a front and back panel that are joined with a crocheted side seam from shoulder to cuff, as well as a join along the bottom of each sleeve, leaving an opening at the hips.

This poncho-sweater is a one-size garment with a loose, draping fit. The size cannot be changed by adding or omitting stitches on R1, but it can easily be lengthened, and the opening at the hips made larger. The turtle neck can be made less snug by going up 1 hook size.

ll supplies, tools and quantities are provided in the pattern prelude.
