MATERIALS
• 3 balls of a fingering weight soft wool
I used the following:
2 balls of Scheepjeswol Superwash Cool Wool, 1 ball in off-white & 1 ball in aqua; 184 yds per ball
1 ball of James C Brett Aria DK (which is a machine washable mohair/wool/acrylic blend that is actually the same thickness as the fingering weight Scheepjeswol before it is worked up and begins to ‘bloom’), in color Z5, which is a pale silvery gray that has light, flexible, silvery sequins scattered over it; 235 yds per ball
OR 1 ball of a soft, light sport weight mohair blend
A few yards of a lace weight pale green & cream rayon mixed with the gray strand for the ribbing. This was just something I had on hand and wanted to try.

• Crochet hook size H-8/5.0mm or I-9/5.5mm for body of hat
• Crochet hook size G-7/4.25mm or H-8/5.0mm for ribbing
• Scissors
• 1” novelty button of your choice (I used a beautiful polished stone button made by Marina Rabinskaya of A Sheep In The Woods at https://www.etsy.com/shop/ASheepintheWoods)
• Sewing needle & thread to match the main color of your yarn or your button
