This is an updated version of my cottage tea cosy.
Inspired by the quaint cottages of Suffolk England, the cosy is worked in dc (US sc) rows with trebles for the roof overhang. Colour block crochet is used for the doors and windows - I have included an excellent tutorial site for anyone new to this.
The roof overhang is crocheted after completion of the roof, I have included photos to help explain how this is done (its very easy but not easily explained in writing)
The best bit, for me, is the finishing touches, doors, windows etc and I enjoyed experimenting with different types of stitches for the flowers, especially the french knot for roses. - but use your own imagination here.

A note about yarn. I used budget yarn which can be thicker than standard dk but works well as it gives a nice thick fabric to keep the tea warm!.
