This is my favorite every-day sweater; warm enough on a cool day yet light and comfortable when it’s warm. The Falling Leaves stitch pattern is a simple but striking lace pattern. It’s easier than it looks, since all of the work is done on the Right side, and the Wrong side is just purled. The edges and collar are worked in garter stitch. In this design, the lace is worked to size and blocked only lightly. Experienced knitters wanting a lacier appearance might block the pieces to measurements larger than those given in the schematic. This will, of course, produce a larger sweater, so you might need to knit according to a smaller size. The sample uses Dale Sisik, a wool/mohair blend. My husband bought me this yarn for our Wool Anniversary. What a guy!
