This is a series of eleven grid patterns for knitted blocks, which can be sewn together into larger panels such as blankets. You can make each of the blocks in a variety of colour combinations to suit your sprawling country estate project.

The pattern document also contains specific instructions for using these blocks to make the baby blanket pictured on the cover, which measures approximately 325 grams in 4-ply cotton. This includes:

  • grid patterns for 11 unique block designs
  • suggested weights of each colour of yarn required
  • basic instructions on carrying yarns for colourwork
  • basic instructions for assembly
  • instructions for a crochet border

All blocks have been worked in 4-ply cotton using 3mm needles (UK: 11, US: 2½). Blocks are stitched together using a yarn needle. The needle can also be used for small amounts of duplicate stitch on two blocks. The border is added using a 2.75mm crochet hook.

Each finished block will take around 12 grams of yarn in total, and will measure approximately 14 x 16cm.
