Charming little knitted dress with short sleeves and a checkerboard-motif bodice (2x2 stitches per square of checkerboard). Contrast color (used on neck, cuffs, hem and waistband) requires 70 yds, main color 130 yds.

Virtually all stockinette with minimal shaping; worked in one piece on straight needles from the top down, with division/bindoff for armholes, and then seamed up the back of the skirt and at shoulders. Sleeves are constructed separately and sewn on.

Also requires 4 small buttons for back neck opening.
