This airy, open cowl is worked in twisted drop stitch, which results in a stretchy mesh fabric. The texture and bounce of the stitches are ideal for a planned-pooling project, as the rainbow sample shows. Best of all, it works up super-fast with only one skein of worsted weight yarn--perfect for gifts.

Materials:

  • 24 inch (60 cm) circular needle, size US 9 (5.5 mm)
  • stitch marker
  • darning needle

Gauge is not critical, and other yarns could easily be substituted. Just change stitch count and needle size as needed.

NEW Aug 2022 - added PDF and made original blog post version available through Internet Archive. No errata; minor text adjustments to PDF version for clarity in the twisted drop stitch tutorial portion.
