Crochet a cozy cable knit style hot water bottle cover, perfect for snuggling up with through the winter. These would also make great unisex gifts.
This design has a stretch ribbed neck for fitting over the hot water bottle without the need for drawstrings, buttons or other attachments. The cover will have the same neat cable stitch design on both sides and be extra snuggly without any hard or uncomfortable attachments.

This pattern is written using US terms and includes a chart to convert into UK terms. I have used photographs to help with instructions throughout. A printer friendly version will also be included.

I have used 100% Acrylic in Bulky (UK Chunky) size yarn with a 6mm hook. You can use 2 strands of DK yarn together to achieve the same gauge. I have chosen acrylic yarn for it’s stretchier properties, allowing for the stretch ribbed neck.

Designed to fit a standard sized hot water bottle. Finished cover approximate measurements - W9 x H11” up to neck H15” including neck.

Gauge:
2” square = 7 dc x 4 rows

You will need:
Acrylic Bulky (UK Chunky) or 2 strands of DK yarn in any colour you choose - approximately 200g
6mm crochet hook or size needed to achieve correct gauge
Yarn needle & scissors
