My family uses mason jars and stainless steel (Klean Kanteen) water bottles for toting snacks, lunches, and drinks. I thought it would be nice to make felted cozies for each of them. The snug jackets insulate and protect the glass jars, absorb condensation on cold bottles, and protect your hands from a hot beverage.
This pattern includes sizes and directions for 11 types of jars and bottles, with features such as two sturdy handles for half-gallon jars, and optional short or long straps for quart jars or Klean Kanteen bottles.
The cozies are quickly worked in the round from the bottom up. Simple shaping around the rim ensures that they do not flare when they are felted. Use up your stash and have fun with stripes, or go for quick-and-easy with a solid-color cozy.
The pattern includes felting and finishing directions so your cozies will fit well and look great. This is an an excellent pattern for first-time felters, give it a try!
