This pattern is exclusive to the Mean Girls Yarn Club until November 2014, at which time it will be available for purchase.

This small shawl is inspired by the film The Hand that Rocks the Cradle and is designed with a busy new mom in mind, but it makes a fun and interesting knit and a lovely accessory for anyone.

It is knit side to side with a beautiful cable design along the bottom edge of the shawl and a smaller, less intricate design along the top edge. It is simple enough for a busy mom to pick up and put down at a moment’s notice, but still challenging enough to hold interest.

It is lightweight enough to serve as a modesty cover when breast-feeding if you desire one and the superwash wool ensures an easy clean up if an accident should happen.

Gauge is not crucial to this project, but nearly all of the 560 yard skein was used, so please take that into account when choosing yarn.

The cable patterns are both written out and charted. To make this pattern you should be familiar with knitting, purling, make one, decreases, cabling, and slipped stitches.
