This project is a great way to use up odds and ends. It’s fast and fun and produces cheerful leggings to fight the chill. This is an especially good use for leftover bits of sock yarn that has some stretch built in.

PERONALIZING YOUR CRAZY LEGS
Two different styles are given. These two can make a crazy pair or you can make 2 alike from one of the styles. The tuck stitch is what makes the fabric widen to accommodate the calf muscle. For calves that are very muscular, you may add more tuck rows. On the other hand, for slender calves with minimal expansion, you may stick with stockinette and pin tucks for texture. The fairisle sections will always pull in. You may extend them as needed for thin lower legs. The top and bottom hems may be used as elastic casings to make the fit snugger and more slip resistant. Either face of the fabric may be the right side. Seam them with that in mind. OR just decide that with a style this bohemian, an exposed seam is OK and call them reversible. Feel free to experiment. In case of total failure, what have you lost but a few odds and ends of yarn?
